NOTICE SOMETHING IN YOUR WATER?
Bring your questions.
We’ll help you make sense of them.
You don’t need to know the cause before requesting a test. Start with what you’re seeing, tasting or noticing at home.
Spots & buildup
White marks on dishes, shower doors or fixtures? Tell us where you notice them and ask about hardness testing.
Taste & odor
Something different at the kitchen tap? Describe the taste or smell and whether it affects hot water, cold water or both.
Cloudiness & sediment
Seeing particles or a change in appearance? Share when it started and which taps are affected.
Simply curious about your water, or comparing filtration options? You’re welcome to request a test, too.

Your water test questions, answered.
Is the in-home water test really free?
Yes. BullDog Home Services offers a free in-home water test through its water service team, with no obligation to buy a system. The team confirms availability for your address before arranging the visit.
What does the free water test check?
Ask the team to confirm the measurements included at your appointment. The conversation may cover hardness, chlorine-related concerns, total dissolved solids (TDS), pH and visible changes such as sediment. A basic in-home test guides water-treatment choices; it does not test for every contaminant or certify that water is safe to drink.
Will I get to keep my water test results?
Yes. You keep your readings whether or not you purchase equipment. Ask the team to explain each reading, its units and what it means for the concerns you have shared.
Does requesting a test book my appointment?
No. Share your name, phone number, email and ZIP code. Our water team will contact you to confirm your address, the test details and appointment availability.
How long does an in-home water test take?
The time depends on the confirmed test scope and the questions you want to discuss. Ask the team how much time to allow when arranging your appointment.
Can I request a test if I already have a filter or softener?
Yes. Let the team know what equipment you use, its approximate age and the changes you are noticing. They can discuss whether additional readings or a separate service inquiry would be useful.
Where are free water tests available?
The water team serves Houston, Austin, Dallas and Fort Worth. Submit your ZIP code so we can confirm availability for your specific address.
Is this the same as certified laboratory water testing?
No. This service helps you discuss everyday water characteristics and treatment options. For drinking-water safety concerns, ask your water provider or local health department about appropriate testing through a certified laboratory.
For questions about private-well safety testing, see the EPA’s guidance on certified laboratory testing.
